If I were a civilized spaceman and upon the earth I did spyFrom what i saw
brought tears to my eyeIn every land there is CIVIL STRIFEWith killing by gun,
poison and knife
Every one saying their cause is right
Rallying other's to show their might
Each RELIGION saying theirs is only heaven gain
And others should be slain
Some GOVERNMENTS say their rule is just
and truePutting their sick and poor on the streets
and feeling blue
And every place that man lives from sea to sea
Causes destruction in every place
I seeEach RACE has a dislike for the other
Can cause understanding to smother
In the GENDERS there is great dismay
Varying from culture to culture in every way
In humans from obscure to fame
Love is played as if only a game
I will wonder if what I see will always be
ZEALOTS AND AGRESSORS are a bother to me
At this point you and I must agree
That man has many problems to face
If he is to join civilizations in space
On all this I have realized
No man can say he is civilized
Civil strife is in every place
In every religion and race
Varying from discontent to all out hate
In many cases past civilizations met their fate
Living in a world of today cause some to cry
Some one saying how you should live and die
There is a law or rule for every act of life
Right up to some on who will be your wife
I always find it somewhat amusing
From earliest age man starts abusing
Each age and era brings more and more
Civil strife to all out war
Again I have realized
how can man say he is civilized
Religion comes in many ways for man to see the light
Everyone believing theirs to be the only right
Love and understanding each profess for all man
In fact they will at times kill or convert
if they can God is alway (so they say) on their side
In fact they need him to support their pride
On earth there is and have been many a religious fight
Now and in history only the winners were right
again I have realized man is not civilized
Governments come in many form and wills
On whose differences have and will cause blood to spill
Voices can be heard from around the sphere
Each one saying deliver us from hereRuin and destruction they can halt
No greed and self service is their fault
Many times now and past has been said
Each style of government wanted the other dead
Now some are chosen by vote
Then there are others by birth or revolt
Some choose to control others by fear
only bringing doom and destruction near
again have I realized humans are not civilized
Race is determined by geography and birth
And at times determines one's worth
Colors vary in the type of skin
Especially since man had a common origin
humans come in many shapes and sizes
hatred and mistrust I find a surprise
for he says variety is the spice of life
but his hatred of the differences causes great strife
man will hate what he doesn't understand
he is slow at times to comprehend when will he realized he is not civilized
Genders come in only two
Even for me and youNever have I seen and heard in my day
Demeaning and suppression of the sexes in every way
Even most religions and of landRuling and suppression of woman
I don't understand
Seeing this I find grave one gender causing the other to enslave soon it must be realized man is not civilized
Love is something man likes to say
Only it is a game people play
Voices cry all thru the night
Each saying their love is right man uses love to get his way others use it to cause dismay why is a word that man likes to blurt can cause so much pain and hurt with this I have surmised man is not civilized
Zealots come in many way's
Each predicting the end of day's
Always wanting a world to be his mold
Like a shepard with sheep in a fold
Only they seen to have the right
To cause harm to seal their mightSome have caused great suffering and pain
And have shown nothing but disdain
Now god is on their side they say
Destruction to ruin and then they pray
Anarchy is what they breed
Giving in to their own greed
Greatness is what they want to achieveReigning terror and to upheave
Every land there is at least one
Seething for their or other governments to be undone
Slaying and maiming every day
Only so that they can try to get their way
Religious and regional control is what they seek
Spreading terror among the innocent and meek for us up here we are not surprised that in no way is man civilized
man has a few problems he has to face
if he is going to join civilizations in space
all borders must be undone
with his world uniting into one government must be just and fair
and no one should feel any despair
laws and courts should be evenly applied
no matter how or where you reside religions must accept
that everyone has the right
to worship their god by day or night racial, religious and ethnic indifference must cease if man wants everlasting peace
no man should never be in need for we have no room for greed
we believe reward should be given for those who improve others living the sexes must be treated equally and fair
no matter if single or type of pair man has one place of birth
he should try to protect his mother earth man must learn to truly love for himself and us above when all this is in place
then man will be welcomed in civilized space.
